One of the most popular female poker players today is Jennifer Tilly. She was born on September 16, 1958 in Harbor City, California. She attained her beauty from her multi-racial parents – her father is Chinese while her mother is Caucasian. She borrowed her mother’s maiden name for her Hollywood career. She was married to the late Sam Simon, the producer of “The Simpsons”. She topped the 2005 World Series of Pokers Ladies Event with $158,335 cash.

Jennifer TIlly started playing poker during the making of a gambling comedy wherein Tilly was asked and taught to play poker. She enjoyed it and continuously played poker with friends in a home-based duel. During an invitational tournament, she met her current boyfriend Phil Laak who is a professional poker player. He encouraged Tilly to join in competitive tournaments in 2003. It was also Laak who taught Tilly techniques in playing and winning poker.

Another Jennifer in the poker world today is Jennifer Harman. She was born on November 29, 1964 in Reno, Nevada. She started playing poker when she was 8 years old. She was a promising childhood poker pro, but she encountered several health problems during those years.

Harman went to University of Nevada and finished biology. She worked as part-time waitress in a restaurant wherein after poker players finish their games, she used to get their tips on the tables. She also worked as a bartender and played poker. After some time, she thought that poker is not her career choice, thus she started opening up her own business.
